Thesis Statement
Global warming has become one of the most worrisome problems nowadays, which has been caused by CO2 resulting from man-made activities such as, motor vehicles, electricity, and garbage.

Outline
  • People use motor vehicles to go to work, to study, and go to amusement places even though they pollute the environment.

- Motor vehicles (man-made) generate CO2.

  • Although people need electricity in order to carry out their activities, producing electricity generates CO2.

- Growing energy demand.
- To meet energy demand generates CO2.

  • Since garbage resulting from human has increased, garbage has increased CO2 levels as well.

- Garbage produced by humans generates CO2.
- Growing population increase gabage and CO2

Essay
Global Warming

“The warnings about global warming have been extremely clear for a long time. We are facing a global climate crisis. It is deepening. We are entering a period of consequences” –Al Gore–. Climate change has been considerably affected by carbon dioxide (CO2) in the latest decade. The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has recently worsen. Global warming has become one of the most worrisome problems nowadays, which has been caused by CO2 resulting from man-made activities such as, motor vehicles, electricity, and garbage.

People use motor vehicles to go to work, to study, and go to amusement places even though they pollute the environment. “Combustion of fossil fuels is the main source of human related CO2 emissions in the atmosphere” (Sohrabi, Kechut, Riazi, Jamiolahmady, Ireland, & Robertson, 2011, p. 1). Vehicles such as, cars, trucks, and motorcycles consume gas or diesel, and the combustion of these fossil fuels produce CO2. “There is now a strong global consensus among the scientific community that man-made activities have increased the atoms concentrations of CO2 and has led to global warming” (Sohrabi, Kechut, Riazi, Jamiolahmady, Ireland, & Robertson, 2011, p. 1). The reason why the CO2 is causing the climate change is man. Besides motorvehicles, electricity is another man-made activity related with CO2 and global warming.
Although people need electricity in order to carry out their activities, producing electricity generates CO2. “With increasing urbanization in the world, cities are growing in number, population, and complexity” (Omer, 2009, p.6). Due to this increase, energy demand is also increasing in order to meet these growing cities' needs. “Such ever-increasing demand could place significant strain on the current energy infrastructure and potentially damage world environmental health by CO, CO2, and NOX effluent gas emissions and global warming” (Omer, 2009, p. 2). Although CO2 production is not the objective of humans, producing energy generates byproduct greenhouse gases, like CO2. The demand for electricity is growing in addition to increasing levels of garbage from humans.

Since garbage resulting from humans has increased, garbage has increased CO2 levels as well. “The garbage increases energy consumption and deteriorates working conditions in the process of collection, transportation, and incineration” (Haruki, 2010, p. 1). The incineration of garbage increases the concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is affecting climate change. A greater number of family members will generate more garbage compared to a smaller family (Haruki, 2010). Garbage generation is closely related with growing population. If the population grows the garbage and CO2 will also increase. Irrational garbage generation is derived from the lack of recycling culture.

Without any change in the current human lifestyle, global warming damage is becoming irreversible. CO2 produced by man-made activities such as, motor vehicles, electricity, and garbage generation has caused global warming. A correct conscientization of environmental damage that human has caused may decrease environmental deterioration. Humans need to be aware of the damage they are making to the nature and change their current lifestyle in order to save the planet. Planet preservation will assure humanity's survival.
